Chapter Index

    Evil Buddha Continent, Mingkong Temple.

Once the undisputed leader among the temples of the Mingkong Domain, at its peak Mingkong Temple housed more than five Bodhisattva-level Evil Buddha Clan members and over thirty ordinary Arhats, casting its shadow across the entire domain.

But those days are long gone, and the Mingkong Temple of today is a shadow of its former self.

Although to outsiders it remains the uncontested master of the Mingkong Domain, inside it’s been riddled with infiltration.

On this day, deep beneath the temple, a hidden chamber gathered several figures.

“So? Any word from your family’s elders?”

“John, are you sure something big is about to happen here on the Evil Buddha Continent?”

“I can’t say with one hundred percent certainty, but the odds are very high. You’ve all seen it—the devouring among the various Lingzhi Meat Mountains around the continent has sharply intensified. Plus, I’ve got a sort of natural foresight ability. Trust me, if we don’t act soon we’re going to lose control of the Evil Buddha Continent for good.”

“It’s not that we don’t believe you. The civilization war just ended and everyone’s busy consolidating their gains. Just going on instinct isn’t enough to convince the Clan Elders.”

    Doo doo doo!

In the middle of their discussion, John suddenly received a communication.

“Lord John, urgent news! An unknown Star-Annihilator-class Ship has appeared in the Hundred Arms Domain!”

John’s expression changed the moment he read the message. Instead of asking for more details, he raised his eyes and glanced around at the others.

All present had powerful backers too, so it wasn’t long before they received the same report.

Noticing John’s gaze, the others all quickly spoke up, shaking their heads:

“Don’t look at me. The Clan Elder from our Beile Family is still in the Eight-Armed Serpent Demon galaxy cluster. It can’t possibly be our Clan Elder.”

The factions behind these people all hailed from the Tianfeng and Tianpan Galaxies, under the rule of the Yaohan and Violet Orchid Kingdoms—prestigious Immortal Houses all.

As a blood descendant of the Violet Orchid Kingdom’s royal family, John’s status was the highest among the group, so when he reacted, everyone was quick to clarify.

“If none of our elders are here… could it be…”

A sudden thought struck John and his eyes darted toward the middle-aged captain to his left.

That man was Liu Yu, descended from the Liu Royal Family of Yaohan. Though from a long-declined branch, his own talent was considerable. He’d awakened the red Torch Seed from the start and now stood among the elite Dreadnought Captains, respected by the others.

Meeting John’s stare, Liu Yu gave a slight nod.

“Looks like we’re thinking the same. If I’m right, that Star-Annihilator-class Ship belongs to the Song Family of Longji!”

The name Song Family of Longji instantly made the whole room pale.

As elite members of their own Immortal Houses, how could they not know about the Song Family’s rising reputation?

Not to mention the Song Family had split from the Tianpan Galaxy in the first place, and for thousands of years, they’d always had agents moving about on this Evil Buddha Continent.

The more they considered, the more convinced they became, recalling that the Song Family now counted four Star-Annihilator-class Captains among its ranks.

    “So what do we do?”

“What else? Notify the families immediately.”

High above the Hundred Arms Domain, Evil Buddha Continent’s skies.

With thunderous cannon fire, the Heavenly Ruin, previously hidden by the Three Realms Five Elements Medallion, revealed itself.

Song Chi knew full well that showing himself like this would draw the attention of the other Immortal Houses lurking across the continent. He just didn’t care.

Neither the Yaohan nor Violet Orchid Kingdoms posed any real threat to him anymore.

Plus, the Evil Buddha Continent wasn’t even inside Torch Human Civilization’s territory. That made the Heavenly Ruin that much more intimidating. He was sure that even if every Star-Annihilator-class Captain from both kingdoms came, they’d only voice protest—not dare challenge him outright.

During the war, the Heavenly Ruin made a splash: blasting apart eighth-tier foes in direct combat and, alongside other Star-Annihilator-class Ships, taking down a ninth-tier Serpent Demon. News of its feats had long since spread.

No Star-Annihilator-class Captain from those kingdoms would be foolish enough to pick a fight with him.

On the ground, explosions erupted, shockwaves flattening everything. The massive blood-red meat mountain was quickly obscured. The evil Buddha defenders—fifth and sixth-tier—let Buddhist mantras swirl around them, drawing in Laws from all sides.

Before they could even turn their rage against the Heavenly Ruin, their very forms were torn apart by the energy blast.

With firepower like the Infinite Fallen Immortal Quantum Star-Annihilator Cannon, the Blood Spear, Antimatter Annihilation Cannon, and Divine Thunder Cannon, the Heavenly Ruin utterly eclipsed anything at the seventh tier. No mere fifth or sixth-tier unit could possibly withstand its onslaught.

Even those evil Buddhas, backed by the continent’s own Origin Will and controlled by the Ligzhi Meat Mountains, couldn’t change their fate.

When the explosions faded, the devastation below became clear to Song Chi.

Just this round of concentrated fire had left the seventh-tier Lingzhi Meat Mountain half destroyed. Even from a distance, Song Chi could spot exposed blood-flesh Lingzhi inside.

Scanning with the Eye of Truth, he confirmed that threat was neutralized and sent the Heavenly Ruin speeding toward the ground.

Getting closer, a powerful tractor beam fired down, pulling the seventh-tier blood-flesh Lingzhi up from the ruins.

With Song Chi at the helm, collecting the spoils went quickly.

No time wasted, he set course for the next seventh-tier Lingzhi Meat Mountain.

These Lingzhi Meat Mountains on the Evil Buddha Continent could control the evil Buddha clansmen. The seventh-tier ones could even command a seventh-tier Buddha, making them terrifying enforcers.

But high-ranking evil Buddhas were rare here—there were only three in total, and two were still free.

So, only one seventh-tier evil Buddha was actually under the mountain’s control, giving Song Chi the perfect opportunity.

However, the continent’s twisted denizens reacted even faster than he’d expected. Before any Star-Annihilator-class Captains from either kingdom could intervene, these corrupted creatures made their move.

Maybe it was the Floating-land Origin Will of the Evil Buddha Continent itself pushing them into action.

Just as the Heavenly Ruin arrived above the second seventh-tier Lingzhi Meat Mountain, an enemy struck before he could even start.

The pitch-black evil Buddha’s golden body expanded to a monstrous size, power churning with the boost from the Floating-land’s Origin Will. Its battle force surged to the very threshold of the eighth tier, a suffocating pressure radiating far and wide.

But the pressure from the Origin Will itself, pouring in from all sides, was even more oppressive—enough to darken the skies. Song Chi felt it matched even the Origin Will on a typical eighth-level floating-land.

For a normal Star-Annihilator-class Ship this would’ve been a death sentence. But the Heavenly Ruin—used to this level of danger—barely blinked.

After a moment’s thought, Song Chi decided not to bother summoning the Mirror Warship.

While the Evil Buddha Continent did have its strange side, different from most seventh-tier floating-lands, this time he had a different trump card up his sleeve.

    Hiss—

The sealed hatch opened and two figures shot out from the warship.

Once outside, both bodies began to swell at a mind-boggling pace.

    A kilometer tall.

    Ten thousand meters.

    Ten thousand kilometers.

    A million kilometers.

In a flash, they became two colossal giants, both towering well over a million kilometers high.

One was all crimson skin and wielded a blood-red saber—none other than the Ashura Emperor, whom Song Chi had personally resurrected using the Nine Lives Game of Life and Death.

And the other? An eighth-tier Starsea Giant Ape.

Back when Song Chi joined the Torch civilization’s strike force to help the Serpent Demons fight off the Starsea Giant Apes, he may not have been able to openly use the Market Projection, but with the fully recovered Ashura Emperor and countless lives through his Mirror Warship, Song Chi killed several eighth-tier Starsea Giant Apes and enslaved two more.

Now, he kept one beside him while leaving the other on Dragon-Spine Continent—to serve as its greatest hidden ace for years to come.

With two eighth-tier slave beasts in hand, the rest was almost too easy.

The seventh-tier evil Buddha was no match and fell in an instant.

Only the Evil Buddha Clan’s mastery of Speech Law, and their resistance to enslavement techniques and related arts, kept Song Chi from adding them to his ranks. Otherwise, he definitely would have.

Once he’d taken the blood-flesh Lingzhi from that second mountain, more Star-Annihilator-class Ships started to appear above the continent.

Clan Elders from both kingdoms rushed over the moment they heard the news.

Though the war had brought them gains, losing even a single Seventh‑Tier Floating-land was a serious blow—especially since this wasn’t an ordinary one.

But when the incoming captains saw Song Chi’s two eighth-tier slave beasts guarding the Heavenly Ruin, every one of them held their tongues.

    Outer Domain.

    Eighth-tier peak Ashura Emperor.

    Eighth-tier Starsea Giant Ape.

The Heavenly Ruin itself, strong enough to slay eighth-tiers.

All of it proved that Song Chi could wipe them out and keep them trapped here forever.

Thousands of years as captains had taught them what lines not to cross.

In the end, none of the captains from either kingdom tried to stop Song Chi. They could only watch as he went on to the third and fourth Lingzhi Meat Mountains.

A few hours later, the fourth one fell too, crumbling under the Heavenly Ruin’s firepower. But before Song Chi could start collecting the new batch of blood-flesh Lingzhi, a sudden change crossed his face.

The moment the fourth Lingzhi Meat Mountain toppled, the Eye of Truth threw up a brand new radar display.

There was a glaring red dot on the readout. As Song Chi focused in, detailed information streamed before his eyes.

    “Name: Anomalous Life Energy Coordinate”

    “Tier: Early Eighth”

    “Status: Rapidly Rising”

“Projected Final Energy Threshold: Eighth-Tier Limit”

    “Danger Assessment: High”

That was all the Eye of Truth had to offer. Song Chi’s mind raced as he took it in.

One thing was clear: this sudden burst of anomalous life energy was anything but normal.

Starsea common sense held that, without outside help, no being on a floating-land could exceed its own limit. Even the most gifted prodigies or creatures with exceptional bloodlines might push half a step past—but that was it.

There was simply no way for someone to leap from seventh tier straight to the limit of eighth in an instant like this.

There was one more detail—the anomaly on the radar was located exactly where the fifth Lingzhi Meat Mountain had been detected.

That all but confirmed for Song Chi that this massive spike in power was tied to the Evil Buddha Continent’s original, underlying anomaly.

But then again, boosting a seventh-tier being all the way to the eighth’s limit? That was definitely no ordinary feat.

Thinking quickly, Song Chi summoned the Mirror Warship.

With two enslaved eighth-tier beasts and the Heavenly Ruin’s unmatched power, he didn’t really fear an eighth-tier limit foe—but just in case, he sent the Mirror Warship ahead.

    Better safe than sorry.

A few minutes after the Eye of Truth’s warning, Star-Annihilator-class Ships from both kingdoms picked up on the overwhelming life energy surge. Already cowed by Song Chi’s show of force, they immediately seized the chance to withdraw.

Their excuse was simple—eighth-tier threats were beyond them, so all their clansmen on the continent retreated.

Song Chi didn’t mind. Soon, only a few Song Family members remained on the Evil Buddha Continent.

Song Chi wasted no time. The Mirror Warship’s engines roared as it, along with the two enslaved eighth-tier monsters, hurtled toward the simmering source of life energy.

He wanted to see first-hand—just what secrets were buried under the Evil Buddha Continent?

Traveling at full speed, the trio arrived at the source in no time.

    The Mirror Warship hung overhead.

Through his remote view, Song Chi finally saw the culprit behind all the commotion.

A gigantic, pulsing mountain of living flesh and blood.
